GATEWAY PARTNERS FOR PEACE

Gateway Partners Organization was formed in 2012.The main objectives of the organization are:

  • Promote education in peace building, human rights and community development among the school children and the society at large.

  • Be active in arbitration and peace building at family and community level.

  • Uphold human rights and democracy through creating awareness in the community.

  • To employ teachers advisors, experts and other staff for all or any of the objects of the organization.

  • Conduct civil education on good governance and social justice with emphasis on corruption.

  • Be a gateway to a better future for people without hope.

Major Activities

People Camp

  • A week long intergeneration camp on the theme of non-violence as a way of life to be hold in December during festivities seasons.

Peace education and advocacy.

  • Advocacy and projects about the practice of non-violence and non-violent solutions to potential and real conflicts.

Pathways to peace

  • Practices of mediation, creative visualization and intention to nourish non-violence in conflict areas/regions in Kenya

  • Meet the people where they are with skilled facilitators so that resolutions can be identified and taken after conflicts

  • Create awareness of new interventions and innovative solutions and ancient methods of conflict resolutions.

Peace caravans

  • Use peace caravans to spread the message of peace in the affected areas.

  • Work with faith based organizations and ecumenical groups to communicate message of peace in the world.

Goal

The Gateway  Partners   is working  with the belief that all life has value. We work to promote compassion and awareness of the potential for interdependence and lasting peace, and nonviolent solutions to world, national, and local conflicts.

We support peace and justice by:

  • Serving as a resource center.

  • Organizing outreach campaigns.

  • Mobilizing community resources.

  • Establishing educational programs and workshops.

  • Fostering collaborative relationships with other group

  • Tackling injustices such as corruption which sometimes lead to war and violence as there is unfair distribution of resources

  • We  will address the problems that that caused conflicts at the grassroots levels

  • Design programs for the youth such as agribusiness for youth and women empowerment .

Our mission

Gateway is dedicated to building lasting peace by reinforcing the capacities of societies to overcome deep divisions and to address conflict in non-violent ways. We are rooted in local realities, drawing strength from an alliance of national teams with a long-term commitment to building peace in their own societies.  We believe in the wisdom of listening, the power of participation and the strength of informed dialogue to build understanding and trust – the foundations of peace building.
